Lapeer Art Association 2008 Calendar
Jan. 12 – Feb. 16 - It’s All in Black and White – the upper gallery will be filled with art mediums in black and/or white
Feb. 23 – Mar. 22 – Critters – the upper gallery will have various art representations of animals, birds, bugs, etc.
Mar. 29 – May 10 – Spring Into Art – all gallery spring show – the Lapeer Art Association has all of Gallery 194 and it will be filled with a wide variety of art
May 17 – June 21 – A Family Affair – This show will feature the art of Lapeer Art Association members and members of their families – a wide variety of art can be seen in the upper gallery.
June 28 – Aug. 2 – Imagine That! – the upper gallery will assault your senses with color and wild imaginings in this show of unrealistic and abstract work. This show will also feature a “People’s Choice Award” Contest for the artists of the LAA. Participating artists will be given a list of ten unrelated items. Each artist must select at least five of those items and incorporate them into a piece of art. The public will vote on their favorite and the winning artist will receive a prize.
Aug. 9 – Sept. 20 – A Community of Giving – Lapeer Art Association will donate it’s 20% commission on all sales from this show to three local charities (to be determined prior to the show). The upper gallery will be bursting with fine, locally made artwork at very reasonable prices. Some of the artists have also agreed to give part of their commissions to the charities. Truly a community effort of giving. The more sales we have, the more going to local charities.
Sept. 27 – Nov. 1 – Color My World – the upper gallery will be filled with a colorful array of unique, one-of-a-kind art work of various mediums.
Nov. 8 – Dec. 27 – Holiday Glow – the entire Gallery 194 space will be aglow with the fabulous artwork of the Lapeer Art Association. All mediums will be represented in this holiday art show. A great opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind, local art at very reasonable prices for holiday gift giving.
