Martie is on the Board of Directors of the Lapeer Art Association. Bert Braunsteiner of Capac, MI. Acrylics and Metalworking. Bert began his artistic career later in life and shows his work at the Farnsworth Gallery, in Harbour Beach, and the GM Tech Center. Joan Braunsteiner, also of Capac. Colored Pencil, Watercolors, Drawing. Joan has been interested in art for more than 20 years and has taught many art classes as well as having her art displayed in numerous shows and galleries. Linda Deming of Attica, MI. Oils, Poetry, Metalworking, Stained Glass. Linda is also the Project Assistant for Deer in Lapeer. Lois Watson, Metamora, MI. Fiber and Wearable Art, Weaving. Lois was an art major at Alma College and then taught children for many years. Marguerite Fix of Lapeer, MI. Mixed Media, Pastels, Photography, Drawing. Marguerite has been seriously pursuing her artistic interests for 30 years. Darlene McCurdy, Lapeer, MI. Darlene works with Crafts, Oils, Pencil, Watercolor, and Cards Julie Hayes, Columbiaville, MI. Julie is a fairly new member who works with Polymer clay. Doris Wenger of Lapeer, MI. Fiber, Needlework, Wearable Art. Doris has been weaving since 1966. Kate Schneider, Lapeer, MI. Kate works in Watercolor, China Painting, Quilting, and Acrylics. Virginia Geda of Lapeer, MI. Watercolor, China Painting, Porcelain Dolls, Acrylic; Sewing, Quilting, Clay Sculpting. Virginia got her interest in art from members of her family and has been doing art since she was a child. Elizabeth Zsolczai, Lapeer, MI. Liz does Porcelain painting, Drawing. Watercolor, Pastel, Charcoal and works in Fiber (needlework & quilting) and has been seriously involved with doing art for 35 years. Jessica Fish of Lapeer, MI. Jessica is a student at Lapeer West High School and takes classes at Mott Community College. She also does Quilting and Basket Weaving. Her friend, Andrea Smith helped her with “Ducky”, her deer project. Mike Monville, Lapeer, MI. Mike is president of the Lapeer Art Association. He started out as a child with just a box of crayons but now he works with Pencil and Pen & Ink Drawing, Pastel, Watercolor, and Acrylic Painting, Metal and Clay Sculpture, Pottery, and Printmaking. Donna Monville, Lapeer, MI. Basketry, Pottery, Beeswax candles, Glycerin preserved and dyed flowers. Donna has created her own basketry classes. In these classes she encourages her students to design their own baskets and then go on to help them with the execution of their personal designs. Diane Hancock of Lapeer, MI. Diane grew up with art and now works with Fabric, Watercolors, Acrylic, Clay, Oils, China and Porcelain Paints. She has also designed and made home decorating furnishings and upholstering as well as designed clothing. Judy Sweet, Lapeer, MI. Judy works with beaded and wire sculpted jewelry and framed pressed flowers. You can see her work weekly at the Lapeer Farmer’s Market. Regina Moskal of Lapeer, MI. Pen and Ink; Pencil/Charcoal; Oils; Watercolor. Regina finds great satisfaction, enjoyment, and relaxation while doing her art. Pat Thwing, Lapeer, MI. Pat works with Oils and Pottery. Her work has been shown in galleries in Southeastern Michigan, including Saginaw, Lansing, Port Huron, Owosso, and Mt. Clemens. Dean Elkins, Lapeer, MI. Dean works with Pencil, Photography, and Woodcarving. Judy Elkins, Lapeer, MI. Judy is into Performing Arts as well as Photography. Pat Barry of Fostoria, MI. Pat works in watercolor and Acrylic. Gail is also the secretary of the Lapeer Art Association. Margaret Powers of Lapeer, MI. Portrait Dolls, Character Art Dolls, Sculpture, Pottery, Interior Design. Margaret has been involved in art for as long as she can remember; creating, sculpting and combining colors and objects to create a sense of beauty are a major part of her life. Bob Dueweke of Metamora, MI. Pen and Ink, Watercolor, Oil, Airbrush. Bob worked for 30 years as an illustrator supervisor at Chrysler Corp. and 15 years operating Casa Art Service doing Automotive Art. He also taught Illustration at Macomb Community College. Amy Reese, Fostoria, MI. Amy is the Project manager of Deer in Lapeer. She is interested in many mediums including: watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, pencil, charcoal, clay, jewelry making, paper mache, sewing soft sculptures, decorating hard-shell gourds and computer graphics. She also dabbled with some movie-making and editing this past fall with the epic film, O Pumpkin Where Art Thou. Guest Artists: Virginia Cox. Virginia works for the Lapeer County Library and is decorating their deer; “Deerly Love to Read” Michele Rohn, Ageless Treasures, Lapeer, MI. Michele attended the Center for Creative Studies and has been doing art her whole life. Since opening Ageless Treasures she has focused mainly on Jewelry Making but has also done Photography, Sculpture, Pottery, Glass Blowing, Pastel, Charcoal, Pointillism, Printmaking (Intaglio), Stained Glass and Painting. |
